Craig Dellinger: 3rd District City Council in New Haven

Hello, my name is Craig Dellinger and I'm running to be your 3rd District Councilperson in New Haven, Indiana. I've had the honor of representing the 3rd District on City Council for the past 8 years.

I moved to New Haven in 1981 while working for the Allen County Times and New Haven Printing. My wife Jane and I were married in 1987 and moved into one of the first houses in the Lakes of Scarborough addition. Soon after, I joined several of my neighbors by forming our Community Association. Over the past 30+ years, I've served on the Board of the Lakes of Scarborough and Ashford Lakes Community Association having the role of President for about half of those years.

I'm the President of New Haven Print (across the street from McDonalds) here in New Haven. Our son Danny is a New Haven High School graduate and moved back to New Haven with his wife several years ago. We love New Haven and are enthusiastic about seeing it grow.

Here are some of the other boards and committees I've served on over the past 10 years.

  • Founded the New Haven Community Foundation (with Steve McMichael and Charlie Hatten) - past Chair and current Board Member

  • New Haven Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors - Past Chair and current Board Member.

  • "I Love New Haven" - Committee member (downtown Christmas lights)

  • New Haven Board of Zoning Appeals - past member

  • New Haven Plan Commission - current member

  • New Haven Community Center - Construction Committee Chair

  • New Allen Alliance Stellar Communities - team member

  • Fort Wayne Advertising Federation - Past Chair and Board Member

  • Better Business Bureau Charity and Education Board - current member

Recent Awards and Honors

  • I was very proud to receive the Bill Fritcha Memorial Award this Spring. This is an award that celebrates Bill's volunteer service to our community. Several of my mentors have received this award including Doug Geller (passed), Terry Werling and Leon Davis. I'm very honored to have been considered.

  • Fraternal Order of Police Business of the Year 2019 for helping out with their Kops 4 Kids campaign. This is a wonderful campaign that takes kids that might not have a Christmas otherwise, shopping with our Police Officers.

  • New Haven Chamber Community Spirit Award and Business of the Year.

New Haven has a lot of momentum right now. There are many developers interested in starting projects. Thanks to the Stellar Communities Designation and grant, The Community Center will be adding many outdoor features next year including an inclusive playground, splash pad, pickleball courts, outdoor tables, and a basketball court. We'll also be connecting the Community Center to Moeller Road via a sidewalk through Meadowbrook. Our plan is to eventually connect all the neighborhoods to our parks with walking paths. The Gene Kady Cove housing development will start construction next year. They'll give Seniors an opportunity to live in a safe, convenient community with a direct sidewalk to the Community Center. The second phase of this addition will include market rate housing for all ages.

I'd appreciate your help by voting on November 5th, Also, please vote for my friend Steve McMichael for Mayor of New Haven ( The future in New Haven is very exciting and I'm looking forward to serving you and the community another 4 years.

Please honor me by hosting one of my yard signs. Just click on the Volunteer Button and check the campaign sign button as well as filling in your address. We'll get a sign delivered and will remove it the evening of the election.
